A dental practice has an unusual tolerance for IT failure, which is to say none at all. Chairs are booked, the patient is already in the room, and if the practice management software will not load or the sensor will not talk to the operatory computer, the day unravels in fifteen-minute increments. The Dental Practice IT Assessment is a free review built around that reality, run by NetFusion Designs from 141 Main Street N, Markham.
It looks at the systems a practice actually depends on: practice management software, imaging, the network serving each operatory, and the handling of patient information under PHIPA. You get the findings in writing, ranked by risk. There is no charge and no obligation to act on any of it.

You receive the findings in writing, ranked, in language a principal can act on without a technical translator standing beside them. Every entry is built the same way: what we found, what it puts at risk, what to do, and how quickly.
Ranking follows what a practice actually loses. Anything that could stop the schedule comes first. Anything that could expose patient information comes next. Everything else follows behind, honestly labelled as housekeeping rather than dressed up as an emergency.

Plan it. Findings that need a budget and a date rather than a panic: an unsupported imaging workstation, a switch with no replacement, backups that have never been restored from.
Worth knowing. Findings that are not urgent and may never be, recorded so that nobody discovers them at the worst possible moment.
Nothing in the report carries a price and nothing in it is a proposal. Where a finding is something your current IT support can close, we say so.

We review what you have agreed to show us: the practice management and imaging environment, network and wireless, backup coverage, and how patient information is accessed and shared. Read-only wherever possible, and scheduled outside clinic where it is not.
We write it up and rank it. The document is yours whatever you decide afterwards, and you are free to hand it to another provider without telling us.
We walk you through it, answer questions, and separate what your current arrangement can close from what needs outside help. If nothing needs us, we say so.
The limits matter more here than in most sectors, because a practice carrying a regulatory obligation deserves to know exactly what it is being handed.
The assessment fits a particular kind of practice. Where it does not, there is usually a better place to spend the hour.
It should not. The review is read-only wherever that is possible, and anything with a genuine chance of disruption is scheduled outside clinic hours and agreed with you first. Nothing is changed without your approval.
We support the platforms and the hardware they sit on rather than the clinical use of them. That is the honest boundary. Where a question belongs with your software vendor, we will tell you so instead of guessing.
No, and be wary of anyone whose review claims to. Compliance is the practice's obligation as custodian. What the assessment gives you is a clear description of where your technology helps or hinders that obligation, which is a useful input to the work but not the work itself.
We avoid it and we design the review that way. Where access to a system is unavoidable, we agree it with you first and keep it to the minimum needed. NetFusion Designs is SOC 2 Type 2 attested, and this work runs under the same controls as client work.
Some practices ask us to do the corrective work and become clients. Many do not, and hand the report to whoever already looks after them. We think the second group is worth the time anyway, and there is no charge or commitment either way.
