This is a comparison written by NetFusion Designs, a managed IT provider headquartered in Markham, Ontario. IGS Systems serves businesses in the same region, so we have an interest in the outcome and you should read this with that in mind.
What this article does is set out what IGS Systems publishes about itself on its own website next to what NetFusion Designs commits to. What it does not do is rate them, comment on their prices or their service quality, or claim anything they have not said themselves. Every statement about IGS Systems below is sourced from igssystems.ca and linked at the end.
The short version: these two businesses overlap more than a quick skim would suggest. IGS Systems is a long-established Toronto IT company with a walk-in location on the Danforth. NetFusion Designs is an Ontario-headquartered provider with eight offices across Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and Texas, a round-the-clock staffed desk and an independent security attestation. Both offer managed agreements and ad-hoc work, and both do physical and cabling work — so the real deciding factors are closeness, the scale of relationship you want, and what each provider puts in writing.
IGS Systems operates from 1268 Danforth Avenue in Toronto. Its website states that the company has “been providing IT Professional services… since 2000” and serves small and medium-sized businesses across the Greater Toronto Area and south Ontario.
The service lines listed are cyber security, on-demand IT support, managed IT services, disaster recovery planning, server solutions, IT consulting, network administration and cabling, and VoIP communications. The site describes the company as providing “comprehensive outsourced IT services”, managing “everything from servers, networks, and cloud solutions to workstations”.
Its managed IT page sets out what is inside the managed offering: “24/7 IT Monitoring & Support”, “Network & Server Management”, “Cloud Solutions & Data Backup”, “Cybersecurity Protection” and “Help Desk & Remote Support”. On commercial terms, the page promises “Predictable Monthly Costs – No hidden fees, just straightforward pricing”.
What stands out most is the walk-in location itself — a real address on a main street that a customer can drive to, operating in the same spot for a quarter of a century.
Reading only what the company publishes, IGS Systems looks like a strong fit for:
These are the commitments NetFusion Designs makes. They are not a statement that IGS Systems does less — they are what we put in writing.
Two things that comparison articles often present as dividing lines are not differences between these two providers, and it is worth being explicit about that rather than letting an omission do the work.
Physical and cabling work. IGS Systems lists network administration and cabling, and server solutions. NetFusion Designs publishes the same category of work: structured cabling, patch panels, wireless access point placement and testing, racks, new-site setup, office moves and failed hardware. If your next project is running cable through a warehouse or standing up a new office, both providers do that work. The question is who is closer, and who you would rather have in the building.
Ad-hoc support without a contract. IGS Systems lists on-demand IT support as a distinct service line. NetFusion Designs offers ad-hoc help with no contract, billed for the work done, as a first-class option alongside fully managed agreements — not as a reluctant favour or a foot in the door. If you genuinely do not want a monthly agreement, neither provider will force one on you.
The walk-in premises are the clearest reason. IGS Systems has operated from 1268 Danforth Avenue since 2000. If your office is in Riverdale, Leslieville or East York and you want to be able to carry a failed laptop into a shop and speak to someone across a counter, that is a real service feature and NetFusion Designs does not publish an equivalent. Our nearest offices are on Bay Street, in Markham and in Pickering — close, and onsite attendance from them is routine rather than exceptional, but none of them is a storefront you can walk into with a laptop under your arm.
The second reason is the scale of the relationship. IGS Systems is a small, long-established local business. Some buyers specifically want the same handful of people who have known their environment for years, rather than a named team within a larger organization. That is a legitimate basis on which to choose a provider, and no attestation or coverage map outweighs it if that is what you value.
What we would not tell you is that IGS Systems is the better choice because they do physical work or ad-hoc support and we do not. As set out above, both providers do both.
Ask both providers the same questions and compare the written answers rather than the sales conversation.
| Point | Detail |
|---|---|
| Both serve GTA small and mid-sized businesses | IGS Systems is on Danforth Avenue in Toronto and has operated since 2000. NetFusion Designs is headquartered in Markham with eight offices across four provinces and states. |
| The walk-in counter is the real difference | IGS Systems has a storefront on the Danforth. NetFusion Designs has offices in Toronto, Markham and Pickering nearby, but no walk-in counter. |
| Buying models overlap | Both offer ad-hoc support without a contract and both offer ongoing managed agreements. This is not a point of difference. |
| Physical work overlaps | Both publish cabling, racks and on-site hardware work. Choose on proximity and preference, not on capability. |
| Independent assurance | NetFusion Designs holds a SOC 2 Type 2 attestation. The IGS Systems site does not address SOC 2, so ask them. |
If IGS Systems is on your shortlist, we are happy to be on it as well — and happy to tell you if we are not the right fit for how you want to buy IT. NetFusion Designs offers a free assessment: we look at your environment, tell you what we would change, and put the scope in writing before anyone talks about a contract.

If you are an east-end Toronto business that values a walk-in counter a short drive away, or you prefer a small, long-established local firm where the same few people know your environment. Note that physical work such as cabling and racks, and ad-hoc support without a contract, are offered by both providers and are not points of difference.
Yes. IGS Systems lists network administration and cabling and on-demand IT support. NetFusion Designs publishes structured cabling, patch panels, wireless access point placement and testing, racks, new-site setup and office moves, and offers ad-hoc help with no contract billed for the work done. Neither is a point of difference between the two.
A 15-minute response on critical issues under the service agreement, a SOC 2 Type 2 attestation, a helpdesk staffed around the clock rather than on call, named engineers with a defined escalation path, onsite attendance graded by geography, tested backup restores, and scope agreed in writing before signing.
