TeamLogic IT alternatives: how NetFusion Designs compares

A sourced comparison of the TeamLogic IT office serving Markham and Thornhill with NetFusion Designs, drawn entirely from what each provider publishes about itself.
IT support in the Greater Toronto Area

This comparison is written by NetFusion Designs, a managed IT provider headquartered in Markham, Ontario. TeamLogic IT has an office serving the same area, so we are an interested party rather than a neutral reviewer, and you should weigh what follows accordingly.

What this article does is put what TeamLogic IT publishes about its Markham office next to what NetFusion Designs commits to. What it does not do is rank the two, comment on TeamLogic IT's pricing or performance, or claim anything about their business that they have not published themselves. Every statement about TeamLogic IT below comes from teamlogicit.com and is sourced at the end.

The short version: these are two SMB-focused managed IT providers in the same corner of the Greater Toronto Area with substantially overlapping service lists. The differences that actually matter to a buyer are structural — how each business is owned, how reach is assembled, how support is staffed outside office hours, and what each publishes about independent security assurance.

Table of contents

What TeamLogic IT says it does

The TeamLogic IT page for Markham lists an address on Yonge Street in Thornhill, Ontario, and states plainly that “this business is independently owned and operated” — it is one office within a wider North American network of TeamLogic IT locations rather than a branch of a single company. The same page states the network spans more than 350 locations.

The services listed on that page are: managed IT services, co-managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud services, business continuity, network management, IT consulting and support, productivity and collaboration, IT compliance, and managed AI services. The About page describes the office as able to deliver “fully outsourced IT, co-managed IT or project-based IT solutions”, and describes the managed offering as including “24/7 monitoring, proactive maintenance, and expert support”.

The page also lists office hours of Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with weekends closed, and names the industries served: accounting, construction, education, financial services, government, healthcare, legal, manufacturing and distribution, and non-profit.

On approach, the About page says the office focuses on “business and technology” and works at “delivering solutions tailored to your unique business goals”, describing itself as “your ear to the ground and your muscle in the trenches”.

That is a complete, credible SMB managed IT proposition, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Who TeamLogic IT suits well

Reading only what the company publishes, the TeamLogic IT model looks like a strong fit for:

  • Businesses that want to deal with a local owner-operator who has a wider network behind them for escalation, tooling and procurement.
  • Organizations with sites spread across many North American cities that specifically want a locally owned office in each of them, given the network spans more than 350 locations.
  • Buyers for whom IT compliance is central, since the Markham page treats it as a named service line.
  • Businesses interested in managed AI services, which TeamLogic IT also lists as a distinct offering.

Where NetFusion Designs differs

The following are commitments NetFusion Designs makes. None of it is a statement that TeamLogic IT does less; it is what we put in writing.

  • A SOC 2 Type 2 attestation. An independent auditor examines our security and availability controls over a period of time. The TeamLogic IT Markham page does not address SOC 2 either way, so ask them rather than drawing a conclusion from a web page.
  • A 15-minute response commitment on critical issues, written into the service agreement with severity levels defined alongside it.
  • A helpdesk staffed around the clock rather than on call. The TeamLogic IT Markham page lists office hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm on weekdays and describes 24/7 monitoring as part of its managed service. Monitoring and a staffed desk are genuinely different things, and both are legitimate models — the point is to know which one you are buying, from either provider.
  • Named engineers with a defined escalation path. A small group holds your account's context and one of them owns each ticket through to closure.
  • Onsite attendance, graded honestly by geography. Routine where we have offices — Toronto, Markham, Mississauga, Kitchener, Pickering, Montréal, Winnipeg and Austin — scheduled with lead time elsewhere, and arranged locally further afield. Remote support reaches anywhere: we support clients across Canada, coast to coast in the United States, and at international sites in Australia, Egypt and the Philippines.
  • A published coverage map rather than a blanket claim. Our site sets out which regions get which level of attendance instead of asserting blanket national coverage, and tells you plainly which category you fall into.
  • Tested backup restores — restores performed and evidenced, not backup jobs reported as successful.
  • Scope agreed in writing before you sign, with the exclusions listed. Our page on what managed IT costs explains why we do not publish a headline per-user rate.
  • Co-managed IT and virtual CIO. TeamLogic IT lists co-managed IT too, so this is overlap rather than difference — compare how each of us actually splits the work with your internal team.

When TeamLogic IT is likely the better choice

There are real situations where we would expect TeamLogic IT to be the better answer.

The first is a locally owned office in each city you occupy. The Markham page states the TeamLogic IT network spans more than 350 locations, each independently owned. NetFusion Designs works across Canada and the United States too — our site sets out the graded picture, with onsite routine where we have our eight offices, scheduled with lead time elsewhere, and arranged locally further afield. Both models can cover a distributed business. They assemble that coverage differently, and if what you specifically want is an owner-operator with their name on the door in each of your cities, a franchise network is built to deliver exactly that.

The second is the owner-operator relationship itself. Some buyers specifically want to deal with the person whose name is on the business, and a locally owned office is built around exactly that. If that matters to you, it is a legitimate reason to choose them.

The third is service lines we do not lead with. TeamLogic IT lists managed AI services and IT compliance as named offerings on the Markham page. If either sits at the centre of what you are buying, ask them about it directly.

One thing that is not a difference, and is sometimes presented as one: project-based work without a managed contract. TeamLogic IT offers it, and so do we — NetFusion Designs publishes ad-hoc support with no contract, billed for the work done, as a first-class option alongside fully managed agreements. If that is your deciding factor, both providers can accommodate it.

How to compare the two fairly

Put the same questions to both providers and compare the written answers.

  1. At 3am on a statutory holiday, who answers — a person on shift, or an on-call rotation? Ask both.
  2. Is the response commitment in the signed agreement, and are severity levels defined in it?
  3. Who specifically owns our tickets, and what happens when that person is on leave?
  4. What independent security assurance can you show me, and may I see it under NDA?
  5. When did you last restore a workload like ours, and can you show the evidence?
  6. What is excluded from the monthly fee, in writing?
  7. For each of our sites, is onsite attendance delivered by your own staff from a local office, scheduled with lead time, or arranged through a local resource?

It lists managed IT, co-managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, business continuity, network management, IT consulting and support, productivity and collaboration, IT compliance and managed AI services.

Does TeamLogic IT offer co-managed IT?

How do the two providers differ on support hours?

NetFusion Designs staffs its helpdesk overnight rather than placing engineers on call. Monitoring and a staffed desk are different things, so ask any provider exactly what happens at 3am.

How was this comparison researched?

By reading TeamLogic IT's public pages for its Markham office and recording the source page for each statement, and by verifying every NetFusion Designs claim against our own published pages.
